Privacy Notice

At The Duvet Store, we are committed to maintaining the trust and confidence of all visitors to our web site. In particular, we want you to know that The Duvet Store does not sell or trade email lists with other companies and businesses for marketing purposes.

In this Privacy Policy, we’ve provided information on when and why we collect your personal information, how we use it, the limited conditions under which we may disclose it to others and how we keep it secure.

How do we collect data?

We collect data directly from our customers, either when inputting an order onto our website or when placing an order over the telephone.

On which legal basis do we collect it?

We collect this data as part of a contract to supply goods as paid for.

Types of data we collect

Names & Addresses

We use the names and addresses provided by you in order to accurately process sales transactions and to deliver the items you have purchased to the correct address.

Telephone Numbers

If you provide us with a telephone number we will use this to keep you updated with the status of your order and the progress of your delivery.

E-Mail address

If you provide us with your e-mail address we will again use this to keep you updated with the status of your order and the progress of your delivery.

We may also use your e-mail address for our own marketing purposes and to keep you informed of our latest news and of any new offers. If you would prefer us not to use your e-mail address in this way you will always be given the option to opt out.

Credit or Debit Card numbers

We use WorldPay to process all of our card payment transactions. WorldPay are a specialist online payment provider who are compliant with all the industry security standards and requirements (PCI DSS).

If you purchase from us online, your payment card details are collected directly by WorldPay and at no time are these made available to The Duvet Store.

If you purchase from us over the telephone, we will enter your payment card details onto the WorldPay system on your behalf. These details will not be held or stored by The Duvet Store once the payment has been processed.

How long do we keep your data for?

We keep your contact details and a record of your purchases for a reasonable length of time due to a number of factors, including:

  • To facilitate the smooth processing of any additional purchases
  • To keep your information available in case of queries relating to product guarantees
  • To keep you updated with new offers and relevant company updates

Who do we share your personal details with?

Delivery Companies

We will advise the couriers which we are using to deliver your order of your name, address, telephone and e-mail address. This is in order that they can safely deliver your order whilst keeping you updated as to its progress. They will not share your details with anyone else or use it for their own marketing purposes.

Manufacturer

Occasionally, in order to save waiting time, we will deliver orders directly to you from our UK based manufacturer. In order to do this we need to share with them your name, address, telephone & e-mail address so that they can accurately arrange for the safe delivery of your order. They will not share your details with anyone else or use it for their own marketing purposes.

Website Developer

MTC are our website developers who as such are processors of our data. They do not share your details or use it for their own marketing.

Google Analytics / AdWords

When someone visits www.theduvetstore.co.uk we use a third party service, Google Analytics, to collect and log details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is also used by Google AdWords which is an e-commerce marketing platform. The information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make any attempt, and do not allow Google to make any attempt, to find out the identities of those visiting our website.

Trust Pilot

We use an external independent company called Trust Pilot to collect and publish reviews from our customers. They will use only your e-mail address to contact you and invite you to leave a review.
